Our Church Leadership

Our Church thrives because of the energy and style of the people who are a part of our leadership. Here are a few of the people that make our church community special:

The Rev. Kevin Van Brunt:

Since 2005, Rev. Kevin Van Brunt has served as the President and Executive Director of Sentinel Ministries.  He oversees the operation of Camp Sentinel in Center Tuftonboro, New Hampshire.  Kevin also served as the President of the Christian Camp and Conference Association for New England and is currently on the national CCCA board as the Northeast regional representative.   In his previous experience, he served the Young Men’s Christian Association in Goffstown, New Hampshire as the Associate Branch Executive, overseeing branch operations and coaching 8 full time and 150+ part time staff.   He also served at Faith Baptist Church in Manchester, New Hampshire as Associate and Youth Pastor. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure studies with minors in Youth Ministry, Outdoor Education and Special Education from Gordon College. Kevin's vision for the camp and retreat ministry is to use the stillness of God's Creation as a vehicle to build relationships and change lives for Christ.  He resides year round at Camp Sentinel with his wife Traci and children Tucker, Abigail and Owen. When not at camp, he is often building at his log cabin in Madison NH.

We are extremely grateful that Pastor Kevin has willing accepted to be our interim, Interimduring this period of transition.  If you wish to contact Pastor Kevin, contact him at Kevin@campsentinel.org.

The Rev. James R. Smith:

The Rev. Smith, a native of South Hampton NH, was ordained to the ministry in 1974. His wife, Sharon, is a former Reading Supervisor for the Manchester NH School District and a native of Newburyport, MA where they now live. The Smiths have three children and six grandchildren. Avid students of Biblical Archaeology and history, they have led several tours to Israel.

Jim is a graduate of North Central University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He has pastored churches in Maine, NH and VT. For eleven years he served as an Area Minister of the American Baptist Churches of VT and NH. As Area Minister, Jim worked with the Melvin Village Search Committee in 1999. He retired from full time parish ministry in 2011 and has served as interim Pastor in South Hampton and Newton Junction NH since his retirement.

We are most grateful that Pastor Jim has agreed to be our pulpit supply during this time of transition.
